After nearly four decades of continuous service, this legacy Delta Cooling Tower has officially been retired and replaced with a new Paragon T250i. The customer, a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, relies on industrial cooling to support one of the most heat-intensive operations in their facility for their hot roll production line.

In plastic film manufacturing, precision hot rolls are used to heat, stretch, and form polymer films into extremely thin, consistent gauges. These heated rolls often operate at temperatures above 300°F, and keeping them at stable, uniform temperatures is critical to:

  • Ensuring gauge control and product uniformity

  • Preventing material distortion or sticking

  • Maintaining consistent line speed and throughput

  • Avoiding costly downtime from thermal imbalance

Once the film passes through the hot roll section, chilled water circuits help bring it down to a manageable handling temperature and finalize its mechanical properties.
